Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?
Either call 0458 749 746 or send an email to yourhomephysio(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)iinet.net.au

How long are my appointments?
Appointments may vary from 40 minute consultations to longer 60 minute consults.
Your initial appointment is generally longer, involving planning and goal setting, more detailed notes and assessment. It may also involve liaising with others (eg GP, support coordinator, referrer, etc) as required and in consultation with you.
Follow up appointments will vary with your presentation and severity.
Generally if things are really painful the appointments will be shorter and more frequent.
If you have had a longer or a chronic presentation (or less painful), these appointments will generally be longer and spaced out more.

How much will my appointment cost?
Appointments change in cost depending on the type and length of appointment, whether reports are required, where we are meeting, etc. It is best to contact Your Home Physio to find out what the cost will be for your specific case.

What should I wear for my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in, and that makes your area of complaint easily accessible. Shorts/tracksuit pants/singlets/zipped or buttoned jumpers.
If you are doing a gym session – wear appropriate gym clothing, shoes and bring a water bottle. If meeting at the pool – wear appropriate pool clothing, towel and something to change into.

Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Your Home Physio is a mobile, home-visiting service and routes of transport between clients needs to be planned in advance, thus short notice cancellation can rarely be filled by other clients.
As such, you are asked to give 24 hours’ notice for a cancellation or rebooking, so that session times can be rescheduled and clients on the waiting list can be seen. Appointment cancellation without 24 hours’ notice incurs a fee, which is 90% of the expected consultation fee.

If you cancel within 1 hour of the appointment or aren’t present or available at the commencement of the scheduled session time without prior notification given to Your Home Physio, the full session fee will be charged, unless in extenuating circumstances. This is applicable to all Private, Worker’s Compensation, ICWA CIS, NDIS, DVA, and Chronic Disease Management clients and you will be required to pay the full cost of the scheduled appointment yourself.

If you are an NDIS client, Your Home Physio have adopted the NDIS cancellation policy which can be found on page 18 of the NDIA Price Guide 2019-20. This policy will be discussed with you and agreed to via the Service Agreement prior to commencement of services.

Life happens though, so if you have to cancel, however late, please contact Your Home Physio on 0458 749 746, as soon as possible. There are often clients waiting for emergency appointments, and if they fill the timeslot, no fee will be charged and everyone’s happy!
